Bridgeport News: Suspicious Death

On November 3, 2023, at approximately 4:10 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a report of a human body found behind 1028 Stratford Avenue. Patrol Officers responded to the area and found a deceased female in the rear parking lot of 1028 Stratford Avenue. She was positioned near a dumpster in the parking lot. Medical personnel arrived on scene and confirmed the party was deceased. The Detective Bureau has responded and taken charge of the investigation. The Forensic Identification Unit has since processed the scene and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has removed the unidentified body. The City of Bridgeport and the Downtown Special Services District to Host Reception for the Conclusion of the “Color it In” Mural Program

Bridgeport, CT – The City of Bridgeport’s Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED) has partnered with the Bridgeport Downtown Special Services District (DSSD) to close out its second year of the “Color It In” mural project. The project produced over 30 murals in the downtown area of Bridgeport; helping to utilize vacant walls and spaces to add to DSSD’s initiatives to beautify the City. Bridgeport Police Need Your Help

On October 14, 2023, at approximately 11:30 pm the Islamic Community Center located at 468 Clinton Ave. was burglarized.  The suspect stole several computer tablets and a digital camera.  The Bridgeport Police Department is asking for public assistance in identifying a suspect captured on video surveillance at this location on that date and time. The suspect is described as a Black male, thin, with a goatee-type beard and mustache. The suspect is wearing black pants and a black and red sweatshirt with distinct writing on the front and back. 2023-10-27@5:53pm--#Bridgeport CT-- The driver of this camper probably thought he had the proper clearance to clear the train overpass at Lafayette Street and Railroad Avenue. It was determined that the plastic air vent was what was hung up under the trestle. Firefighters not only removed the vent stored it in the camper and helped the driver back out!
