#Bridgeport CT--On September 20, 2023, members of the Bridgeport Police Department arrested 37-year-old Charles Lee Young for the September 27th, 2020, murder of Nyair Charles Nixon. Nyair was 21 at the time of his death. This violent crime occurred at the Keystone Lounge located at 1798 Barnum Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Charles Young is charged with 53a-54a Murder, 53a-217 Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and 29-35(a) Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Young is currently in federal custody for unrelated charges. He will be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court in early October. Bond is set at 1.5 million. Bridgeport Police Detain Known Offender After Shots Fired Incident; Seize Multiple Weapons

#Bridgeport CT--On Friday, September 15, 2023, at 21:32 hours, the Bridgeport ECC (Emergency Communications Center) received a report of shots fired inside a rooming house located on Myrtle Avenue. The caller provided information that implicated a known tenant as the individual responsible for the gunfire. In response to this report, Bridgeport Police were dispatched to the scene. As officers were en route to the location, they received additional information that the individual responsible for the shots fired was under supervision for criminal possession of a firearm, currently on three years of probation, and registered as a deadly weapons offender. Bridgeport Structure Fire

At 04:28 this morning, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire with visible flames in the 1000th block of Fairfield Avenue. In response to these calls, the Bridgeport Fire Department, along with the Police and AMR, were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the on-scene Fire Command reported a working fire situation, which was subsequently upgraded to a 2nd alarm. The fire was contained within a first-floor apartment. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the incident. One of the occupants affected by the fire is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. Bridgeport UNREPORTED CRIME: Another Person Shot

If it weren't for our viewers reporting shots fired and sending in this crime scene photo this probably would have gone unreported. After asking for more information ALL the media received a press release. On September 12th, 2023, at 17:37 hours, the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a ShotSpotter Activation alert in the vicinity of Park Street and Shelton Street. In response to this alert, the Bridgeport Police Department dispatched officers to the specified area. Upon arrival at the scene, officers reported the discovery of multiple shell casings at the intersection and proceeded to secure the area as a crime scene.
