2022-06-08@1:33pm–#Bridgeport CT– #Fairfield CT– A person on Park Avenue was attempting to turn left when witnesses told me she was struck from behind by a landscaping truck causing the vehicle to rollover. Police said the injuries were not serious. The crash was on the Fairfield side of Park Avenue but the car landed in Bridgeport.

Bridgeport News: Police Investigate Homicide #9
#Bridgeport CT– On Sunday June 5, 2022 at approximately 1:55 AM Bridgeport Police responded to a stabbing/assault at 922 Madison Avenue (Club Azul). Upon arrival Officers located a victim outside the club suffering from a deep wound/laceration to his torso. He is identified as a 27-year-old Bridgeport man. The 27-year-old victim was quickly transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
During that time, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center updated responding Officers of a second victim that had arrived at an area hospital via private vehicle with life-threatening stab wounds to his torso, head, and extremities. He has been identified as a 25-year-old Bridgeport man.
Both assaults appear to be related and both appear to have taken place outside the establishment on Federal Street.
The Bridgeport Police Department Detective Bureau has taken charge of the investigation. A crime scene along Federal Street and Madison Avenue was processed early Sunday morning.
Late last night on June 5, 2022 the 25-year-old victim died at an area hospital from injuries sustained during this assault. The victim’s family (next of kin) have been notified.

Mayor Ganim Announces Bridgeport Director of Labor Relations and Legislative Affairs Project Manager
Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim announced the appointment of Andre Ford as Bridgeport Director of Labor Relations and Andy Carlos Toledo as Legislative Affairs Project Manager. Mr. Ford replaces Eric Amado as Interim Director of Labor Relations, and Mr. Toledo replaces Constance Vickers as Legislative Affairs Project Manager in the Ganim Administration.
“I am pleased to welcome Andre and Andy to our administration. Both roles in Labor and Legislation are critical in the success of our city’s government operations,” said Mayor Ganim. “Andre and Andy are both skilled in curating strong relationships and developing data assessments in order to seek benefits and positive outcomes in their respective roles.”
In his most recent position, Andre Ford served as Labor Relations Director for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. He comes to Bridgeport with more than a decade of experience in human resources, including negotiations with unions and relationship building with employer and employees to maintain a positive and equitable work environment. Andre Ford will officially begin work with the City of Bridgeport on June 27, 2022.
Andy Carlos Toledo will represent the Mayor’s Office to manage the City of Bridgeport’s legislative agenda on state, local and federal government affairs. He served as Community Engagement Specialist for New York City Civic Engagement Commission along with the Office of Bronx Borough President’s Office. Andy is skilled in outreach strategies and assessing community and policy needs with elected officials, agencies, houses of worship, community-based organizations, and city residents. Andy will start his tenure with the city on June 6, 2022.

MAYOR GANIM ANNOUNCES INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY AND ADDITION OF TWO ASSOCIATE CITY ATTORNEYS
BRIDGEPORT, CT— Mayor Ganim announces that today marks City Attorney R. Christopher Meyer’s final day of municipal service with the City of Bridgeport. Effective immediately, Attorney Mark T. Anastasia has been appointed Bridgeport’s City Attorney. In addition, Attorneys James T. Maye and Deborah M. Garskof will join the City Attorneys Office as Associate City Attorneys on June 27, 2022.
Attorney Anastasi will serve on an interim basis, with one of his primary responsibilities to assist the mayor in the selection of his successor for the position of City Attorney, who will then serve out the current term through December 31, 2023. Attorney Anastasi is experienced in this role as he formerly served as Bridgeport City Attorney continuously from 1992 through 2015.
Attorney Maye and Attorney Garskof have vast experience in the legal sector and bring with them expertise in employment law, real estate transactions, litigation strategy, research, negotiations, and resolutions. Attorney Garskof most recently comes to Bridgeport from Ury & Moskow of Fairfield where she served as a member since 1998 and carried a robust caseload. Attorney Maye will be leaving his own practice of the Law Offices of James T. Maye, LLC where he was established in Norwalk as a general practice firm focusing on real estate, bankruptcy and business law.
Former City Attorney Meyer has dedicated more than three decades of service to Bridgeport, with the last six and one-half as the City’s chief counsel. The Administration as a whole, and Mayor Ganim in particular, are most grateful for Attorney Meyers’ many years of outstanding legal representation of Bridgeport and numerous contributions to the city.

Bridgeport News: 2 Car Crash Into Apartments
2022-06-03@11:04pm–#Bridgeport CT– Remarkably there were no reported injuries in this 2 car crash at West Avenue and State Street. One of the cars hit the apartment building causing significant damage. The building inspector was called to see if the building is safe for occupancy.
