#Bridgeport CT-- On Tuesday May 24, 2022 at 1933hrs a Bridgeport Police Officer was on patrol in the area of Maple Street, when she came upon a vehicle in front of her patrol cruiser with parties acting suspicious. The Officer proceeded to conduct a motor vehicle stop and the vehicle proceeded to disobey the lights and sirens and flee in a high rate of speed through various city streets and onto Route 8/25. The Officer called off the pursuit due to the recklessness of the fleeing vehicle. She provided a description of the vehicle to the Bridgeport ECC that transmitted the information out to the Bridgeport Police Department and other local Police Departments. 2022-05-26@10:00AMish--Word on the street is that there was a shootout in a back lot on Vine Street near Park Avenue.Word is that there was a round of 12 shot and then and round of 12 minutes apart. One person was shot at the scene. A short time later a suspect was allegedly apprehended wearing a tactical vest and hundreds of rounds of ammunition at PT Barnum Housing. There have been a large increase in shots being fired in the area of PT Barnum. Last week one teen was apprehended after a shots fired incident.
On May 24, 2022 at approximately 4:30 AM, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received a telephone call stating six shots were fired within the 100 block of Orange Street. At approximately 4:40 AM EOC received a second call reporting a male subject shooting from the third floor window of a multifamily home within the 100 block of Orange Street. Uniformed Patrol Officers arrived at the scene and reported hearing more gunshots. Police identified a multifamily home on Orange Street from which the shots were being fired. Innocent citizens were evacuated and the Bridgeport Police Emergency Services Unit was activated.Patrol supervisors established communication with the subject as trained police crisis negotiators were requested and began their response to the scene.The…
Bridgeport, CT – The Health Department and the Department of Parks and Recreation announced this afternoon that the West Beach and Barnum Blvd Area would be closed for three hours on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tick management spraying is being carried out by the department and the hired contractor, All Habitat Services, along the lower hillside of the Seaside Park Landfill along Barnum Boulevard. The Seaside Park West Beach entrance will be closed to the public until 11 a.m., after which it will be reopened to provide access to that broad region of the park. 2022-05-23@1:34am--#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call from a party indicating smoke was filling up a room on the 2nd floor in the 100th block of West Liberty Street. Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched and upon arrival came across a fire on second floor that extended to third of a three story rooming house. One occupant was evacuated by ladder. #Trumbull CT-- Three (3) Bridgeport teenagers were captured Thursday afternoon after robbing a local woman and stealing her car at the Westfield Trumbull Shopping Mall parking lot. At about 2:45 p.m., a fifty-nine (59) year-old woman was loading her car in the mall parking lot when she was surrounded by three (3) young males who demanded her car keys. The woman was pushed from behind and her purse was snatched from her hands, along with her keys. The juveniles entered her vehicle and sped off towards Main Street before police arrived. The victim was able to provide police with descriptions of the fleeing suspects and her vehicle, which was then provided to all other area police departments who assisted in…
