Bridgeport News: Dirt Bike Crash

POLICE UPDATE:

On March 24, 2020 at approximately 5:33 pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of East Main Street and Stillman Street.

A 26 year old Bridgeport man, identified as Ricardo Ruiz, was traveling northbound on East Main Street operating a blue and white 2013 Yamaha “enduro” style motorcycle.  As the motorcycle approached the intersection of East Main Street and Stillman Street a Bridgeport man, operating a red 2006 Nissan Altima, was traveling eastbound on Stillman Street.  As the Nissan Altima travelled across East Main Street, the car and motorcycle collided. The Nissan came to a stop on Stillman Street just east of its intersection with East Main Street.  The operator of the Nissan Altima has been identified as 23 year old Elisee Kouakou.

This collision caused the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected and land in the street at the northeast corner of East Main Street and Stillman Street.  The motorcycle was located on Stillman Street, just a few feet east of the intersection.

The operator of the Yamaha motorcycle was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The operator of the Nissan Altima was not injured and is cooperating with police.

The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team has responded to conduct further investigation.  Anyone with additional information, related to this crash, is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic Division (Officer Judson Brown) at 203-576-7640.

2020-03-24@5:39pm–#Bridgeport CT– East Main at Stillman Street is closed due to a crash involving a dirt bike.  It appeared that the police took one person into custody.

 

Bridgeport News: Mom Bites Daughters Hand

2020-03-23@10:39pm–#Bridgeport CT– A 10-year-old girl in the 2500 block of Main Street called 911 to report her mother bit her on the hand because the child was texting using profanity.

 

Someone asked me if crime is down since the quarantine.  It is but domestic calls, (fight between family members) are on the rise.

Bridgeport News: Homicide Suspect Arrested

#Bridgeport CT–This morning, Victor Arroyo (DOB: 1/9/98 of 25 Ashley Street) was arrested and charged with the February 14, 2020 shooting death of Phillip Ingram. The evidence shows that Arroyo became upset with Ingram because he was almost struck by his car as he was walking on East Main Street. Arroyo threw a bin at Ingram’s car and brandished a gun. Ingram called 911 and followed Arroyo as he walked away, but before police could arrive, Ingram confronted Arroyo and was shot multiple times. Arroyo is charged with Murder and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit. He is being held on a $2,000,000 bond. This arrest is the result of outstanding work by Detective Winkler and all those who assisted in the case.

 

Bridgeport News: Church Fire

2020-03-23@2:09am– Witnesses told me flames were twenty to thirty feet in the sky in the back of the Apostolic Worship Center located at 540 East Washington Avenue (right across from Washington Park).  Firefighters quickly knocked out the fire and kept the fire away from the worship part of the church. A car and transport vehicle had their windshields smashed and a van had a side window smashed in so arson is suspected. There was no reported injuries.

Bridgeport News: Man Beaten After Assaulting Woman

2020-03-22@10:19pm–#Bridgeport CT– Police and EMS were called to Clinton and Fairfield Avenue for a woman stabbed.  The woman fled and was found in the 500 block Clinton Avenue.  It turns out the woman was assaulted but not stabbed.  Police received calls for the man who was allegedly responsible for assaulting the woman, being assaulted allegedly by family members at Howard and Fairfield Avenue.  He was the only one transported to the hospital, the woman refused medical treatment.
