2019-07-14 @ 2:29pm–#Bridgeport CT– There was a fire on the third floor of a large apartment complex at 50 Monroe Street. Firefighter’s quick response kept the fire contained to the one apartment. Deputy Fire Chief Ronald Rolfe said that the people in that apartment probably won’t be able to return to their apartment and that they are still assessing if everyone else can return to the other apartments. Animal Control was called for two rescued cats. There were no reported injuries.
Police UPDATE: Police confirmed that two people were shot. One in the hip, and the other in the legs. Non life threatening injuries. One firearm recovered but no arrests were made.
2019-07-13 @ 11:29pm–#Bridgeport–Police received a call for a street fight in the 800 block of Kossuth Street (near Arctic Street). Updated reports said there were shots fired. Police were already on Pearl Street for a structure fire and were quickly on the scene and found two people shot. One went to the hospital by private vehicle and the second person was treated and transported by EMS. A firearm was recovered from the scene. The condition of the two victims is not known at this time.
2019-07-13 @ 11:00pm–#Bridgeport CT– Firefighters called to the 200 block of Pearl Street for a possible structure fire, smoke reported on the 3rd floor. Firefighters arrive to find an odor of smoke and a burned resident. Firefighters investigate and find the fire was possibly on the outside of the structure and are taking care of it. If you parked blocking the hydrant at Kossuth and Berkshire the police have a surprise for you!
2019-07-13 @ 8:01pm– #Bridgeport CT– A car hit 505 Jewett Avenue with no structural damage to the building. The driver complained of chest pains and was transported to the hospital. The car was being moved in the picture.
Bridgeport Police have identity of the victim from the homicide on 7/13/19 is identified as Sean Warren, 17 years old of Bridgeport.
On July 12, 2019 at 2311 hours, Bridgeport Police received a report of shots fired and a victim shot in the area of Horace Street and York Street. Responding officers located a 17 year old male who sustained at least one gunshot wound to his chest. This male was transported to Bridgeport Hospital by medics where he died at 0027 hours on July 13, 2019 after exhaustive efforts by ER staff to revive him. Officers encountered two large parties taking place at this location with many people on the street after the shooting occurred. Detectives remain at this location and are processing a crime scene and interviewing witnesses. The victims identity is being withheld at this time pending autopsy. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
2019-07-13 @11:15PMish–Around 11:15 police received numerous calls for a man shot in the chest at Horace and York Street. According to radio reports a firearm was recovered at the scene. At this time there has been no word on the man’s condition but witnesses said he appeared to be in serious condition.

2019-07-12 @ 5:29pm–#Bridgeport CT– A reported overturned sailboat in the Southport Harbor. The two occupants have life preservers on and are in no distress.
On Friday, July 12th, 2019, at approximately 0045hrs, officers were dispatched to an address on Spring Street on the report of a domestic violence incident. It was reported by dispatch that the responsible party arrived home intoxicated, assaulted the complainant, and subsequently strangled her cat to death.
Upon arrival to Spring St, the responsible suspect was not on scene. The female victim stated that she and her boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation approximately at 0035 hours upon confronting her boyfriend about arriving home late and intoxicated. She stated that he became irate and began striking her multiple times with closed fists. He then got a hold of her 8-week old kitten and began strangling it by its neck, subsequently killing the kitten. Upon observing the kitten officers were able to confirm that the cat was deceased. The suspect was said to had fled on foot once the woman informed him that she was contacting the police. According to the victim, the suspect has been living with her on Spring Street. He has no other known addresses.
The victim refused medical assistance as she had minor lacerations to the right side of her face. The boyfriend is currently on probation, reportedly for assault and strangulation. Police began canvassing the area for the boyfriend and were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. This is open investigation and police will continue to attempt to locate the suspect.
2019-07-12 @ 12:44am–#Bridgeport CT– A “man” visited his girlfriend on Spring Street allegedly intoxicated and allegedly beat the woman and killed her cat. The “man” is on probation.
2019-07-11 @ 9:26pm–#Bridgeport CT– A juvenile was stabbed multiple times outside the DCF juvenile housing at 148 Mill Hill Avenue. The knife was found near a utility pole not far from the scene. Police’s quick work allowed them to apprehend the suspect.
According to the housing’s website”Supportive Work, Education and Transition Program (SWETP) is a community based, staffed apartment program that serves adolescent males and females, ages 16 through 21, who are committed to DCF”.
2019-07-11 @ 6:08pmm–#Bridgeport CT– #Fairfield CT– The Fairfield Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a swimmer in distress in the South Benson/Ash Creek area. Fairfield Fire Department Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 4, Rescue 1, Fire Boat Marine 228, Fire Boat Marine 217 and Car 3 responded and arrived on scene at approximately 6:12PM. Marine 228, under the command of Lt. Eric McKeon, quickly deployed and began searching for the missing victim.
Assistant Scott Bisson in Car 3 arrived on scene and assumed command of water rescue operations. Fairfield Police units spotted the victim underwater from shore and were able to direct Fire Units to the victim in the water. Firefighters entered the water and successfully removed the victim. at approx. 6:24pm. He was quickly transported to the South Benson Marina while fire personnel performed advanced lifesaving procedures.
Once at the dock patient care was taken over by American Medical Response and advanced procedures were continued while transporting to the hospital. The name and age of the victim are unknown at this time. The scene was turned over to the Fairfield Police Department who will be working in conjunction with the Bridgeport Police Department conducting further investigation into the incident.
