Cops Need Your Help

BRIDGEPORT, CT- On June 28, 2019 at approximately 11:18 pm, Bridgeport Patrol Officers responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Stratford Avenue and East Main Street.

A pedestrian was crossing Northbound on Stratford Avenue from the southeast corner to the northeast corner within the crosswalk.  As he was crossing the westbound lanes he was struck by a vehicle. The striking vehicle turned northbound onto East Main Street, stopped briefly on East Main Street, then fled the scene continuing northbound.  Officers that responded to the scene were unable to obtain suspect vehicle information at the time of report.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene, provided medical attention, and transported the victim to Bridgeport Hospital. The pedestrian, a Bridgeport firefighter sustained multiple serious injuries.

On June 30, 2019 the Bridgeport Police Traffic Division was notified of the seriousness of the victim’s injuries.  Due to the circumstances surrounding this “hit and run” crash the Bridgeport Police Department Traffic Division is handling the follow up investigation.  The victim has been identified as a 46-year-old off-duty Bridgeport Firefighter and resident of Stratford CT.

The Bridgeport Police Traffic Division is working on several leads regarding this investigation. The vehicle has been identified as a dark gray Toyota Corolla; possibly 2015.  This vehicle should have sustained front end damage and will be missing a drivers’ side rear-view mirror.

Bridgeport News: Woman Stabbed In Fight

2019-07-10 @ 9:03pm–#Bridgeport CT–A large group of woman reported fighting outside building 21 of PT Barnum on Anthony Street.  One woman has been stabbed or cut to the head and is being transported to the hospital by private vehicle and and second woman reported to have lacerations to the head.

Felon Arrested With Firearm

BRIDGEPORT, CT- On July 2nd, 2019 Task Force Officers (TFO’s) apprehended Kavon Roberts of 519 Brooks Street, Bridgeport. Roberts known to the Task Force, was arrested with a firearm approximately a year ago.  Roberts and his associates had reportedly taken over a corner on the East Side at East Main Street and Arctic Street which includes the G&M Deli and Grocery. Task Force Officers working with the community and outside Law Enforcement received information that this area has become a safety issue and quality of life problem with drug dealing and parties carrying firearms. With this information Task Force Officers opened an investigation.

On July 2nd, 2019 at 1530 hours Kavon Roberts, DOB 8/30/1999 was observed by TFO’s carrying a firearm in his pocket. With the assistance of K-9 Officer Martocchio, Task Force Officers apprehended Roberts in the Deli. Roberts had on his person a 380 caliber semi-auto firearm with extended magazine loaded with 10 live rounds. In addition to the illegal firearm, Roberts also had in his possession 34 small bags of Crack-Cocaine.

Kavon Roberts was arrested without incident, all evidence was processed through Bridgeport PD. Roberts is a convicted felon and is on the Deadly Weapons Registry. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm plus Ammunition, Possession of Narcotics With intent To Sell, Carrying a Pistol without Permit and Illegal Sale, Delivery or Transfer of a Firearm. Bond was set at $250,000.

#Bridgeport CT– In a story we were first to report to you when it happened:

At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Monday 07/08/19, Randy Torres, DOB: 08/02/93, of 95 Houston Avenue was taken into custody by members of the Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau’s General Investigations Unit, Fugitive Task Force, Robbery/Burglary Unit, as well as the United States Marshals Service and Ct. State Parole.

The arrest occurred at the Motel 6 on Schoolhouse Rd. in Milford.

Torres was responsible for firing multiple gunshots into a home that was occupied by several children – one as young as seven years-old – at 125 Houston Ave. on 07/06/19.

He also made threats to law enforcement.

Among his charges on Monday were multiple counts of Criminal Attempt of Assault in the First Degree, Risk of Injury to a Minor, Sale of Narcotics, Threatening and Assault on two of our Detectives during the arrest. He also had three active warrants from the Bridgeport Detective Bureau’s Domestic Violence Unit.
