A passerby said there were people on the sandbar and said they won't make it back in time for high tide. Firefighters just said they are with two women who were on the breakwater but no hazard. 9:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to Essex Street for a kitchen fire. The assistant fire chief told me it was a fire that extended to the cabinets and into the walls. Firefighters quick response kept the damage to a minimum.

#Bridgeport CT--On October 31, 2018 at 11pm, shots were fired near 848 Maplewood Avenue from the passenger side of a green Mazda MPV minivan depicted in the attached video. Two victims, Myoshi Bagley and David Belle were mortally wounded in this shooting and died from their injuries. The Bridgeport Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating the perpetrators and the green Mazda MPV involved in this incident, and request that anyone with information contact Detective Jorge Cintron at 203-581-5227 or call the Bridgeport Police Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS (8477).
Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joe Ganim and the Department of Public Facilities today are reminding residents of the Leaf Collection guidelines that requires residents to place leaves, brush and grass clippings in containers to be ready for pickup on recycling day which occurs bi-weekly. Leaves should be placed in brown paper leaf bags (like those displayed in photo), garbage cans with no lids, or open top cardboard boxes. In order to be collected, Bridgeport residents MUST have their desired receptacle at the curbside on their day of recycling pickup, as the truck will pass by only once during that week.
