#Bridgeport, CT – Sept 19, 2014 – Detectives are attempting to identify a suspect who tried to hold up a business in the 4200 block of Main Street.Detectives Art Calvao and Kenneth McKenna responded to an attempted robbery that happened shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday at the Uptown News, at 4200 Main St.Detectives secured video footage from the location and are seeking the public’s help in identifying the would-be robber.The hooded suspect entered the store with a plastic grocery bag and a weapon. It is unclear if the weapon was an actual handgun or a facsimile. He ordered the employee to fill the plastic bag with money. When the employee called out for the owner of the business, the robber…

Firefighters say it is an electrical issue and have recalled. Police tracked the two to the Bridgeport town line near Mason Street. Also found on them were 3 packs of Duracell AAA and two packs AA batteries with no receipt. Police from both departments are now meeting at the Staples Plaza, unknown if they suspect the shoplifting of batteries from there as they are still investigating. Bridgeport Police Arrest 2nd Suspect in Homicide

#Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 14, 2014 – Police apprehended a second suspect in connection with an Aug. 10shooting that killed a 21-year-old man. The 17-year-old suspect was apprehended yesterday by School Resource Officer Jonathan Forestier at Lakeview Cemetery. He was charged with murder and other charges and is believed to be the gunman who shot Ryan Hernandez during a confrontation at Park Avenue and Olive Street. The teen made arrangements to turn himself in to Forestier. Detectives Robert Winkler and Ada Curet investigated the case. The investigation and video footage from the scene showed at least two males arriving at the location in a car and showed the victim approaching the vehicle. Bridgeport Police Arrest 3 Suspects in August Home Invasion

#Bridgeport, CT – Sept 17, 2014– Three New Haven men face charges in connection with an August home invasion that injured a Bridgeport man. Detectives Martin Heanue and Art Calvao, of the Bridgeport Robbery unit, secured arrest warrants charging the three men in the robbery of an East Main Street man. The victim stated that on Aug. 2 he answered his door just prior to 3 a.m. after a knock. He said the person outside identified himself by a name that the victim recognized. When he opened the door, four men then entered the house, two of them armed with guns. According to the victim, the men assaulted him and demanded his money, taking cash from his wallet. Bridgeport Detectives Arrest Man With Fake $100 Bills

%Bridgeport, CT – Sept. 16, 2014 – A Brooklyn man was arrested Monday after he attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a store on Maplewood Avenue.Detectives subsequently located eight other fake $100 bills in his vehicle. Detectives David Garcia and Jorge Cintron were at a business on Maplewood Avenue following up on an unrelated investigation when they were alerted that a man was attempting to purchase diapers with a phony $100 bill. They spoke with the man, identified as Charles Rowe, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Rowe told detectives that he was visiting his ailing grandmother in Bridgeport but could not provide additional, definitive information about her or her location.
