Fairfield Police UPDATE: Officers responded to Lakeside Drive on a report of a domestic disturbance between adult children in their 50’s and 60’s who live with their 90 year old mother. Further investigation revealed that the suspect attacked the victim with a razor, causing minor injuries to the neck. The suspect sustained a laceration on the hand during the incident. Veronica Klaff 05/28/1961 is under arrest for assault 2nd and is going to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment. 2019-08-19 @ 2:50pm--#Fairfield CT-- Today's vehicle fire was hosted by Andros Diner on Villa Avenue in Fairfield. A dry chemical extinguisher was no match for the fire and firefighters had to use water to put it out.
POLICE UPDATE: The victim was identified as 33-year-old Geovanny Tapia-Zuniga (DOB: 10/03/1985) of Bridgeport, CT. After Geovanny was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center, resuscitation efforts continued until 8:09pm , at which time St. Vincents medical staff pronounced Geovanny dead. Witness accounts stated that Geovanny was swimming on the west side of the beach just beyond the swim ropes. Another witness saw Geovanny in distress in the water, then submerged. This investigation is still active pending cause and manner of death from The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
