FAIRFIELD, Connecticut (October__, 2018) – It’s that time of the year for the annual health insurance open enrollment for private insurances, Medicaid and Medicare. Medicare’s open enrollment runs from October 15, 2018 – December 7, 2018, while The CT Health Exchange/Marketplace General open enrollment for the for the 2019 year runs from November 1, 2018 – December 15, 2018. All residents, who do not have health insurance coverage, are encouraged to visit: www.accesshealthct.com to determine eligibility. Those interested in Medicare open enrollment can attend various forums occurring in Fairfield during October and November.   Representatives from the Southwestern CT Agency on Aging (SWCAA) will conduct these forums with the objective of improving the understanding of Medicare, providing relevant updates for…

Police UPDATE: Yesterday, 10/23/18, at approximately 4:30 PM, police received a report of a male in a vehicle, exposing himself in plain view of a juvenile passerby, possibly intentionally. The vehicle was reported to have pulled over in the area of Post Rd. and Beach Rd.  The suspicious male was described as a white male in his thirties, wearing a white sweater. The vehicle was described as a black, older model, two door, possible Ford Mustang.  Please take note of the description and remain vigilant in observing and reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles, or behaviors to the police at 203‐254‐4800. Tony Hwang (R-28) participated in a press conference Tuesday as AT&T makes a $10,000 donation to the Newtown Parent Connection. “I’m ecstatic that AT&T has decided to give this generous grant to such a worthy local nonprofit,” said Sen. Hwang. “Dorrie Carolan and the Newtown Parent Connection are really on the front lines fighting the opiate epidemic in our state. I can’t think of a better recipient for these valuable funds. All the money will go to efficient use right here in the community.” The Newtown Parent Connection is a local charity devoted to combating substance abuse through education. The organization was founded by Dorrie Carolan, a parent who lost her child to addiction. The organization works in…

#Fairfield CT-- On Friday, the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County’s first-ever Volunteer-a-thon, taking place on October 12 and 13. JLEFC members will aid both long-standing and brand-new partners with 26.2 straight hours of volunteer work, completing projects chosen by their community partners especially for this extraordinary marathon event. Partners served include Operation Hope, Caroline House, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Cardinal Shehan Center, Read to Grow, and the Cyrenius H. Booth Library.
