Fairfield’s Buy Local Campaign
#Fairfield CT-- The town of Fairfield launched it's Shop Local campaign last week. Mark Burnell, Economic Developer for the town of Fairfield said they are trying to make this an ongoing event not just for the holiday season. Owner of Ganim's Garden Supply Lee Ganim said he'd rather see customers go to local shops instead of big box shops saying the quality and service is much better. Ganim said every Saturday should be small business Saturday! The campaign is stressing that fifty percent of money spent locally stays in the local community. Town Of Fairfield Launches Buy Local Campaign

Mark Burnell, Economic Developer for the town of Fairfield said they are trying to make this an ongoing event not just for the holiday season. Owners of the Spic and Span Market Lori and Gregory Peck said they hope that consumers think twice before purchasing online, that the item may be available online. They realize that the campaign won't cover everything for consumers but that consumers should make an effort to support local businesses who pay local taxes to the town and support local charitable events. The campaign is stressing that fifty percent of money spent locally stays in the local community.
Fairfield News: Animal Cruelty
On 11/14/2018 at 3:59pm the Fairfield Police Department responded to 37 Prince Street for a report of animal cruelty. Officers responded to find several animal carcasses, which are believed to be canine remains, in crates within the residence. Fairfield Animal Control and Detectives responded to the house to further investigate. The remains were removed after a search warrant for the residence was conducted. This case is currently under investigation by the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau and Animal Control Office. Fairfield News: Beach Clean Up
The Fairfield Garden Club Conservation Chairs, Jennifer Bargas and Penny Ross, recognize that one of the, if not the, greatest perks of living in Fairfield is being close to Long Island Sound and its beaches. In an effort to honor this natural gift, a beach clean-up was held on Tuesday, November 13th, from 12 to 1:30PM. Almost 18 pounds of trash was collected and cleaned. Using the “Clean Swell’’ app members were able to record every item of trash picked up. The data is uploaded instantaneously to Ocean Conservancy’s global trash database. Police Investigate A Threatening Charge Against CT Post
3:38pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police received a call from a family member that the person who accidentally shot himself at Wings Over Fairfield last month was upset over an article the Connecticut Post wrote about him and was allegedly going to cause harm. Bridgeport Police arrived at the State Street location but found no one. Fairfield Police was dispatched to Wings Over Fairfield at 2075 Black Rock Turnpike and located the man and are investigating.
