UPDATE: According to the police, the driver of the Subaru mya have had a medical episode while pumping gas.  He took off with the pump still attached to his car when he struck the oil truck.  It was determined the medical episode caused the accident.   2020-09-21@2:50pm--#Fairfield CT-- A Subaru and oil truck collided on Black Rock Turnpike near Overlook Road where the road narrows and turns.  The driver of the Subaru was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Fairfield News: Driver Injured In Crash

Police UPDATE: On Sunday 09/20/20 at 2045 hours, the Fairfield Police Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a vehicle had just collided into a tree near the Traffic Circle, just east of McDonald's located at 536 Post Road. On scene, Officers located a red Volkswagen Beetle in the grassy portion of the traffic circle esplanade, where Post Road and Kings Hwy Cutoff intersect. Officers discovered heavy front end damage and found the operator of the vehicle laying on the ground nearby. The operator, identified as a 21 year old Weston Resident was boarded and collared by AMR and FFD personnel. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation. $249,032 Cyber Security Workforce Development Grant for Sacred Heart University

Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04) announced that Sacred Heart University received a $249,032 Training-based Workforce Development for Advanced Cyberinfrastructure grant from the National Science Foundation.  The grant will address the shortages in cybersecurity staff by creating a vocational training in cyberinfrastructure security for community college students.     “While our economy adapts to growing technology trends, it is critical that we provide students with the training and resources to be successful in the 21st century,” said Congressman Jim Himes. “As a member of the Intelligence Committee and a former member of the Homeland Security Committee, I know that building a well-trained cyberinfrastructure security workforce is essential to the country’s competitiveness and security. Fairfield News: Missing Senior Found

2020-09-13@8:37am--#Fairfield CT-- Monday morning a concerned citizen requested the help from police who located an elderly male who appeared to be lost and confused off Brookside Drive and Burr Street.  The citizen said the 86 year-old male appeared to be confused and could not tell where he lived.  The missing man was identified as Segundo Cruz who said he was out for a walk but didn't know for how long he had been walking.  Segundo told officers he lives with family but could not remember if he had children or not.  A search of the  National Crime Information Center system revealed he was missing from Bridgeport.   The Bridgeport Police Department.
