2020-12-02@11:11am-- #Fairfield CT-- Fairfield Police say they initially received a call from a driver who said he was being chased by two cars that were waving firearms. The call started on Jefferson Street, then on to Park Avenue into Trumbull, but then reversed back to Fairfield. The caller said he was rear-ended but fled the scene out of fear of the other drivers. The two drivers stopped that were allegedly involved in the chase stopped after the accident. Police checked both vehicles and drivers and found no firearms. One of the cars had heavy front end damage and was towed to the police station because it had no insurance.

Firefighters found fire on the exterior wall on the lefts side of the home where the utilities enter the home. Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola said the Narrow Street homeowner had a fire going in the fireplace when they noticed flames coming from the light fixtures above the fireplace. When firefighters arrived, they found flames on the left side of the home. Firefighters made a quick exterior attack with water stored on one of the firetrucks. They then began opening the wall inside Firefighters managed to keep the fire from extending to the second floor and into the attic. The fire marshal is on the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire. Carlos Ernesto Morales-Rodriguez of Maplewod Avenue, Bridgeport was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd (CGS 53a-103) and Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny 6th ( CGS 53a-49/53a-125B) after Morales-Rodriguez was observed entering a vehicle which was parked in the driveway of a home on Brookside Drive. On 10/16/2020 at 1:21am, a homeowner on Brookside Drive reported observing a vehicle traveling on Brookside Drive had slowed down and turned it’s lights off. The operator of the motor vehicle was issued an infraction for failure to grant the right away. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The male asked for money and as the driver was about to drive away the homeless male took out a canister and sprayed an unknown substance believed to be pepper spray at the driver. The driver pulled into the 7-11 and called the police. He is being treated at the hospital. The suspect is a white male, 40-50 years of age with blonde/gray hair and beard with a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and sandals. He was thought to be frequent visitor at the Westport train station.
