Fairfield News: Family Of 5 Hit Crossing Black Rock Turnpike

Fairfield Police UPDATE: Fairfield- On 3/18/21 at 1:10 PM Fairfield Police received several 911 calls about a group of pedestrians that were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Black Rock Turnpike and Stillson Road. Responding officers discovered that five pedestrians were attempting to cross Black Rock Turnpike at the intersection of Stillson Road. Four of the pedestrians (2 adult women along with a 12yo & 4yo) were struck in the crosswalk by a car turning left (north bound) onto Black Rock Turnpike from Stillson Road. The operator of the striking car stopped and remained on scene. Fairfield News: Dog Leash Restriction Lifted

#Fairfield CT-- Fairfield's First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick said today that after careful consideration, with the Town's Director of Health, I have decided to lift restrictions requiring all dogs remain on leashes at our open spaces effective immediately. The Rules and Regulations for Open Space Properties will be restored to their pre-pandemic limits. Specifically dogs will be allowed off-leash pursuant to Section 14  (e),  which requires all dogs to be kept under voice command or leash control at all times on open space areas and 14(f) All dogs shall be kept on leash if the animals are within 100 ft. of parking lots or picnic areas. Fairfield News: Fight Brings Out Heavy Police Presence On Grasmere Avenue

#Fairfield CT-- On 3/11/2021 at approximately 3:15pm a Fairfield resident called police to report a fight with weapons on Grasmere Avenue. The complainant reported seeing several males running south on Grasmere Avenue who appeared to be chasing each other with “weapons”. The complainant then stated the males, one which had a machete, ran back into a house on Grasmere Avenue. Given the complainant’s description of multiple people involved and a weapon displayed, a larger police response was dispatched to the area. Police Officers arrived on scene and detained all the individuals identified in this incident. Fairfield News: High Rise Fire In Fairfield

2021-03-11@9:47pm--#Fairfield CT--#ctfire--Firefighters received an alarm and a pull station at The Alto, a new apartment complex at 1401 Kings Highway next to the Metro Train Station. Firefighters found on their arrival light smoke showing from the roof. Firefighters quickly made access to the sixth floor porch area where the found a fire that appears to have extended from a decorative fire place into the structure. The building was evacuated and firefighters worked to see which apartments can be reoccupied, a number of them below the fireplace received smoke and water damage. Smoke Detector awakens Fairfield residents of early morning fires

FAIRFIELD, CT, Thursday, February 11, 2021: At 4:33 A.M. the Emergency Communications Center received a report by a resident of a fire on the second floor at a three-family residence at 556 Black Rock Turnpike.  The Fairfield Fire Department responded and arrived on scene within four minutes of notification.  At the time of arrival, the exact location of the fire was unknown.  During an interior search, firefighters located two small fires in separate locations, while residents awoken by the smoke detector’s alarm attempted to make contact with others still asleep in the multi-family residence.
