Fairfield Parks And Beaches Update

The most recently published data shows Connecticut has 26,312 positive cases, 2,089 deaths, and 1,732 hospitalizations. Fairfield County has 10,874 confirmed cases and 747 associated deaths. The Town of Fairfield has 365 residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 and a total of 44 of our residents have lost their lives. Of the 365 residents who have tested positive in Fairfield, 154 have reported that they have fully recovered. Today we announced the updated policies on Fairfield's open spaces which will be limited to Fairfield residents only. Fairfield Police Warn of Sextortion

FAIRFIELD — Chief Christopher Lyddy and the Fairfield Police Department would like to warn residents of recently reported "sextortion" phishing scams and remind residents of important safety tips regarding scams. In recent weeks, the Connecticut Intelligence Center (CTIC) has received reports of "sextortion" phishing scams from citizens throughout the state. The scam often involves victims receiving an email from a purported hacker claiming to have hacked their computer and filmed them watching pornography. The scammer then threatens to forward the material to all of the victim's contacts unless the victim pays a Bitcoin ransom. The email received by the victim oftentimes addresses the victim by name and references one of their passwords, often in the subject line. It is believed that the…

Fairfield News: Water Rescue

2020-04-27@4:03pm--#Fairfield CT--  A child came to a home in the 900 block of Fairfield Beach Road and told the homeowner that her family was on a raft out on Long Island Sound and needed help.  They called 911 and police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.  There were five people in the inflatable raft that the police boat rescued.  There were no injuries.  The five from Brooklyn, New York were brought back to where they had parked and were told not to return to the water in the raft.

Fairfield News: Car Show At The Rest Area

2020-04-25@1:40PM--#Fairfield CT-- #cttraffic-- State police were dispatched to the rest area in Fairfield on I-95 for a large gathering of cars.  Radio dispatch said it looks like they putting on a car show.  We also were informed earlier about a large gathering of dirt bikes and quads gathering a Bass Pro but there hasn't been any real disturbance at this time.  There was, however, a large gathering of cars on Kossuth Street but there were no updates on this.
