The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) today announced that the Exit 33 Southbound off-ramp on Interstate 95 will be open to motorists at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022. This follows the opening of the I-95 Exit 33 Northbound on-ramp in November 2021. On 04/23/2022 the Stratford Police Department investigated a robbery in the Town of Stratford. It was determined the victim placed an online Facebook Market Place advertisement to sell an IPHONE. The suspect and victim met at a prearranged location where the suspect assaulted the victim and stole his IPHONE. The victim observed a handgun during the robbery. The Stratford Police Detective Bureau with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department Task Force identified the main suspect as SHAHIEM DONALD(DOB 10/09/2003) of Ansonia. STRATFORD – During a Special Meeting late yesterday afternoon the Sikorsky Memorial Airport Commission voted in favor of selling the airport to the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA). The vote was conducted over the objection of Mayor Laura R. Hoydick who cast the lone vote in opposition as the only Stratford member of the Commission. In March of this year, when Bridgeport changed their position from wanting to enter into an operator agreement with the CAA for the airport to outright selling it to them, Mayor Hoydick publicly expressed interest in pursuing the purchase of the airport by Stratford. Health Program Set for May 10 on Zoom The Stratford Library has announced that it will host a virtual, live program about managing stress. “Stress Management: A Proactive Approach” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 10 from 12-1 pm. The program, available on the Library’s Zoom platform, is free and open to the public. Wellness Expert Jill Patterson returns to the Library with an engaging workshop explaining what stress is, how the body responds to stress and how one can manage stress. Participants will learn about a variety of tools including nutrition for stress management, movement and other modalities.
