Trumbull News: Arrests After Security Was Pepper Sprayed

#Trumbull CT-- Two Bridgeport women who were shoplifting merchandise from the Trumbull Mall were arrested Wednesday evening after one pepper sprayed a store security officer in an attempt to escape. At about 8:00 PM, on July 24, 2019, Shazia Depass, age 21, and a female juvenile selected Macy’s store merchandise, and then left the store without paying. Macy’s and Mall Security located and then confronted Depass and the juvenile in the parking lot where Depass was detained. The juvenile female pepper sprayed the Macy’s security officer when he attempted to apprehend her. A struggled then ensued, but she was held for the police. New Yorker Arrested For Stalking Ex Wife and Daughter

#Trumbull CT--A New York man, with a history of threatening behavior towards his family, spent consecutive days following his ex-wife and daughter to locations where they frequent, including their residence. On July 24, 2019 David Kamara, age 46, of Rosedale, NY was arrested on an arrest warrant by the Trumbull Police after he was located at a Stratford gas station. At about 6:42 p.m., on July 22, 2019, the Trumbull Police were dispatched to a suspicious person complaint involving Kamara, who was parked near his ex-wife’s residence near Madison Avenue. VA Hospital Rides

Director of Human and Social Services, Julie DeMarco, announces a partnership with the Trumbull Human Services Department and Greater Bridgeport Transit to provide monthly rides to Veterans to the West Haven VA Hospital. Targeted at veterans, the new service will begin on July 26, 2019. and continue on the last Friday of each month.   "We recognize that many veterans rely on the VA system for their healthcare but transportation can be challenging" according to Ms. DeMarco. #Trumbull CT---The Trumbull Police Department was chosen to be one of only five police agencies throughout Connecticut to receive an award for “Efforts to Promote Officer Wellness Programs and Initiatives for Your Officers.” Several Trumbull Police Officers attended a training program that was sponsored by the Connecticut Police Chiefs Association in New Haven, CT and were recognized for their efforts.
