THIEVES TARGET MAIL FROM TRUMBULL RESIDENTS AND SURROUNDING AREAS

The Trumbull Police Department would like to inform the public of a recent increase in mail theft in Trumbull, and neighboring communities. These crimes have become an increasing problems and are also occurring in many areas throughout the state. Mail is being stolen from residential mailboxes, and also from United States Postal Service (USPS) collection boxes that are located in various residential and business areas. Thieves look for a residential mailbox that has their outgoing mail flags in the upright position, alerting mail to be collected, and then thieves steal the contents from within. Thieves are also targeting USPS collection boxes, by gaining access to these bigger mailboxes to steal larger amounts of mail in a shorter amount of time.…

FOUR JUVENILE CAR THIEVES CAPTURED IN TRUMBULL

Trumbull Police charged four (4) juveniles after they crashed a stolen car and fled on foot into a residential neighborhood near Town Hall early today. Officers who were searching the area located the four suspects as they were attempting to escape with the help of an Uber driver. One (1) juvenile, age 12, of Hamden, one (1) juvenile, age 15, of West Haven, and two (2) juveniles, ages 15 and 16, of New Haven, were all arrested and charged with auto theft for their involvement in this incident. STOLEN VEHICLE ARRESTS IN TRUMBULL LEAD TO DRUGS AND GUNS

#Trumbull CT-- On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, Trumbull Police arrested the occupants of a stolen vehicle after a short pursuit and recovered a number of drugs and two handguns during the apprehension. Manasia Bennett, age 20, of Middletown, and Maureece Fussell, age 25, of Wethersfield, both ran from the vehicle but were captured by the pursing officers nearby. Both were charged with a variety of criminal and motor vehicle charges related to the vehicle theft and pursuit, as well as possession of narcotics and weapons. Just after 9:00 PM, Trumbull police observed a Honda Passport, that had previously been reported stolen from Meriden, traveling near Daniel’s Farm Road. Eric Levine, Deputy Chief at Trumbull Volunteer Fire told me that between the homeowner's actions along with the fire department close by they were able to keep a kitchen fire confined to the kitchen.
