$5 MILLION FOR LONG ISLAND SOUND SOIL SURVEY IN AGRICULTURE APPROPRIATIONS BILL

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security,and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Wednesday secured $5 million in funding for a soil survey on the Long Island Sound in the Fiscal Year 2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. “Long Island Sound is a multi-trillion dollar asset for Connecticut, and our state’s economy depends on its protection. Bridgeport Cop Injured In Crash

2021-08-06@11:53pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A police officer was injured and taken to the hospital in a crash at Fairfield and West Avenue (officer is in the video taken in the ambulance).  The driver of the other car was also injured and taken to the hospital.  The conditions of both are unknown at this time.  A parked car also appeared to be involved in the crash.  Another officer was injured in a crash on West Avenue near State Street on July 3, 2021.

Bridgeport News: Homicide Suspect Captured

2021-08-05@1:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police located a vehicle for a suspect allegedly wanted for a homicide and other violent crimes..  Bridgeport Police lost sight of the silver Mercedes traveling southbound near exit 29.  A short time later Connecticut State Police located the car traveling northbound and pursued it according to radio reports.  The car got off exit 32 and parked the vehicle behind 2420 Main Street Stratford and went into a store.  Police located the man and took him into custody (wearing a red jacket was not such a good idea).
