Arrest Made in Fatal 2023 Bridgeport Car Crash Case

On November 6, 2023, Nathan Antonio Roman turned himself in regarding a fatal motor vehicle accident from January 17, 2023. He was identified and taken into custody, facing charges of Evading Responsibility causing Death, Improper Service Braking System, and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. A $20,000.00 bond was set. This arrest resulted from an investigation led by Officer Quiles and the Bridgeport Police Department's Traffic Division. On January 17, 2023, at approximately 10:44 AM, a pedestrian was struck by a dark green Toyota Camry at the intersection of East Main Street and Pulaski Street. Arrest of shooting suspect

On October 20, 2023 Silas Dedrick, age 18, of Ansonia was arrested by warrant for his involvement in a shooting on September 17, 2023 on Rockwood Avenue. Dedrick was charged with Assault Second Degree with a Firearm, Assault Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment Second Degree, Threatening First Degree, Unlawful Discharge and Altering Identification Marks on a Firearm, he was held on a $50,000.00 bond to be arraigned at Derby Superior Court on October 23, 2023. The shooting occurred when Dedrick, armed with a gun, attempted to intervene in an altercation between a 47-year-old female relative and her boyfriend. The City of Bridgeport has set out to begin the first parts of construction in the Black Rock area, known as the Black Rock Streetscape Project. Westport News: Radioactive Incident

2023-09-18@8:30pm--#Westport CT-- A Fairfield assistant chief was returning from a call on I-95 when alarms went off in his vehicle alerting him to levels of radiation. He isolated it to a Ryder Truck and was able to get the truck to park at Sherwood Island State Park. Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Agents were called to the park along with state police. After a short period of time, they found the radiation with acceptable levels. The truck was carrying medical supplies which may have caused the activation. The truck is being cited for a number of violations including improper placard of hazardous materials.

Bridgeport Homicides 19&20

On September 12, 2023, at approximately 2:45 am Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation within the 100 block of Carleton Avenue. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 21-year-old Ansonia man lying face down in the street in front of 30 Carleton Avenue. The victim appeared to be suffering from a critical gunshot wound(s). Medics arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
