1:04pm--UPDATE: State police radio reports say the brakes are locked up and will require a heavy duty tow. Expect delays in the area. 12:59pm UPDATE: Firefighters arriving on scene now reporting no visible flame 12:50pm--#Milford CT-- #cttraffic--- A gasoline tractor trailer has a brake fire at exit 40.  Woodmont Road is closed.  The tanker is fully loaded and the driver has run away from the truck.  Firefighters on the way.

Bridgeport News: Mayor Issues Snow Emergency

Bridgeport, CT – In anticipation of the pending winter storm due to impact Bridgeport, Mayor Joe Ganim today is declaring a snow emergency for the city to take effect at 12:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018.   During the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted snow emergency streets. March 7 is an ODD number day; therefore, residents should park on the side of the street with addresses that are ODD numbers.  ODD side of the street parking rules are in effect for all other streets throughout the city in order to allow snow plow driver’s clear passage. Bridgeport News: 2 East Side Robberies

5:40pm--#Bridgeport CT--- Police are investigating two strong-armed robberies (force no gun) off East Main Street.  The first robbery took place near Waverly Place.  6 young teens robbed someone a person of their cellphone.  The second incident happened near Louisianna Avenue, there was no suspect info on this one so it is unknown if the two events are connected.   This news report is made possible by:

Bridgeport News: Fire Rips Through Old Boys And Girls Club

#Bridgeport CT-- Just before 11pm Sunday night a person driving by the Boys and Girls Club at 555 Madison Avenue called 911 to report heavy smoke and visible flame coming from the second floor window of the building. When firefighters arrived they confirmed the report and immediately began searching the vacant building for anyone inside (like homeless people making it their home). Primary and secondary found no one inside the building. Three fire hoses were used as well as two ladder trucks were used to battle the blaze.
