Bond Commission For Bridgeport Police Body Cams

HARTFORD, CT – State Senator Marilyn Moore, State Senator Dennis Bradley, Rep. Jack Hennessy, Rep. Steven Stafstrom, Rep. Chris Rosario, Rep. Charlie Stallworth, and Rep. Andre Baker announced today that the State Bond Commission is expected to approve funding for the purchase of body cameras and digital data storage devices for the Bridgeport Police Department next week. The Bridgeport Police Department will be reimbursed $1,150,449 for the purchase of body cameras and video storage devices. Last August, the department launched a body and dashboard camera program in an effort to strengthen trust between police and the public. Training was put in place for all 255 patrol, traffic, K-9 and Tactical Narcotics Team officers. Also, 97 dashboard cameras were installed in police…

Westport Car Employee Charged In A Number Of Thefts

On 01/14/2019, an employee of Honda of Westport reported a larceny by a former employee. The complainant reported a customer had provided a $5,000 cash deposit to a former employee, Ryan Riggs, for a down payment on a vehicle. The dealership found no record of the down payment or of a vehicle hold for the customer. The customer was able to show the withdrawal from her bank account as well as several text messages she exchanged with Riggs regarding vehicles. Riggs had also cashed a check in excess of $1,000 intended for another customer. An arrest warrant application was submitted for Riggs and later approved. #Westport CT-- On 01/04/2019 at approximately 5:30am, officers responded to Riverside Sunoco on a report of a burglary, after a fuel delivery driver observed forced entry to the door of the business. The suspect stole more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and caused over $1,400 in damage to the cash register and door. The suspect was later identified as Christopher Dahlinger of Trumbull, CT. An arrest warrant application for Dahlinger was submitted and later approved. On 03/27/2019, Dahlinger was arrested at Norwalk Superior Court on the outstanding warrant. He was charged with 53a-103 Burglary 3 rd , 53a-124 Larceny 3 rd and 53a-115 Criminal Mischief 1st. Dahlinger was held in lieu of $65,000 court set bond and was to be arraigned…
