UPDATE: From the Connecticut State Police: State Police investigated the report of a suspicious email sent to a school administrator. Shortly thereafter, both the State Police Emergency Services Unit and the Bomb Squad responded to the scene. In the course of the investigation, which is active and ongoing, it was determined that multiple states across the country were receiving similar threatening correspondents- affecting all sectors- both public and private. Each email contained similar verbiage. To date, none of the threats were found to be credible but we strongly encourage anyone who may receive a suspicious email, to immediately call 911. The Connecticut State Police are currently working with our Federal, State and Local partners in the investigation of this incident…
#Bridgeport CT – The City of Bridgeport today joined The Trust for Public Land (TPL), students from Jettie S. Tisdale School, the East End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) and City Council members to cut the ribbon on the newly revitalized East End Park and Playground at Johnson Oak Park and Tisdale School Grounds. 12:29am--# Police received a number of calls for a "man" attacking a woman at State and Iranistan Avenue. Police arrived and chased the "man" catching up to him on Wordin Avenue. Radio reports said an officer was injured in the pursuit. The woman was located in the 900 block of Iranistan Avenue bleeding and emotionally traumatized. This news report is made possible by:
10:18pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters extinguished a fire at People's Bank offices located at 850 Main Street. The fire marshal was called in to investigate the cause.
9:50pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Julianne's Wines & Liquors at 2669 Fairfield Avenue was robbed at gunpoint. The clerk was pistol-whipped and treated by EMS. Three armed males fled in a mini-van.
UPDATE: Police say a senior citizen man filling an air mattress with Fixaflat with a candle burning in the room. According to Wikipedia, Fixaflat type products contain butane. Police said the butane in the product was ignited by the candle causing an explosion. The fire department did not return our e-mails inquiring about this incident. Police Chief AJ Perez told News 12's Frank Recchia “This man is lucky to be alive.“ 6:49pm---#Bridgeport CT-- One person was hospitalized after a small explosion in a bedroom in a home in the 100 block of Beechwood Avenue.
