#Bridgeport, CT – On July 15, 2018 the City of Bridgeport submitted a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of the Lead Paint Hazard Control Grant in the amount of $2,500,000.00 for a three (3) year program and is authorized by Section 1011 of the Residential Lead Based Paint Hazard Reduction Act of 1992 (Title X of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992, 42 U.S.C. 4852) and funding is provided by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2017 (Public Law 115-31), approved May 5, 2017.  The Healthy Homes Supplement funding is authorized under Section 502 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1970 (12 U.S.C. 1701z-2).  These funds will also include the Healthy Homes Supplemental…

Computer Crime & Criminal Attempt To Obtained Drugs

#Westport CT--In February, police were dispatched to a local medical office on a report of a fraudulent prescription. The investigating officer learned an employee registered a fictitious patient with the practice and created a prescription in that name. The employee, identified as Melba Witter, later called in a fraudulent prescription to a pharmacy in New York. The prescription was refused and as a result, was not filled. The officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Witter, which was later approved. On 06/29/18, Witter turned herself in at police headquarters on the active arrest warrant. Stratford News: Weapon and Drug Arrest

#Stratford CT--On 07-04-2018 Daemoni Brice of Stratford was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Illegal Manufacture-Distribution-Sales of Prescription Drugs, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in a Drug Factory Setting, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Weapons in a Motor Vehicle, Simple Trespass and Theft of a Firearm. Brice was the passenger in a car and the stolen firearm was under his seat. The recovered firearm, a GLOCK 43 was reported stolen in the state of Georgia.
