Bridgeport News: Man Critical After Shooting

9:05pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Just after 9pm Monday night, a shooting occurred at the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Union Avenue in front of A&J Variety store. At 19 year old male was struck by gunfire and was transported by private vehicle to Bridgeport Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. A crime scene exists at the shooting location, and the Detective Bureau Identification Unit is processing the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Bridgeport Police Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS (8477).

Westport News: Fraud Investigation

#Westport Connecticut--At approximately 3:24pm on December 9, 2016, police were contacted by an employee from the Verizon Wireless Zone located at 385 Post Road East. The employee was reporting that a female customer had attempted to purchase a cell phone upgrade with what appeared to be a fraudulent New Jersey Operator’s License and a fraudulent credit card. The employee became suspicious of the transaction and attempted to take steps to verify the account holder’s identity. The store had also been notified by a Norwalk branch that the same female had also attempted an apparently fraudulent transaction at their store within the last hour. On Saturday December 3, 2016, the Norwalk Department of Police Service held a DUI Checkpoint along the West Avenue corridor.
