Fairfield News: Cement Truck Hits Overpass

11:50pm--#Fairfield CT-- A cement truck operator attempted to cross at the North Benson Road overpass and realized he wasn't going to make it. We are told he called his office and was told his truck was short enough to make it under the Mill Plain Road underpass....he didn't. Firefighters are concerned with the integrity of the bridge and has asked Metro North to the scene to inspect it. There are big traffic delays in the area due to construction and this is not helping matters. Heavy duty tow trucks just arrived at 12:29pm. 11:33am--#Bridgeport CT--The daycare at 715 Trumbull Avenue has been evacuated for an odor of smoke in the building. There is no visible smoke, just an odor. Firefighter just arrived on scene. La guardería en 715 Trumbull Avenida ha sido evacuado por un olor de humo en el edificio. No hay humo visible, sólo un olor. Bombero acaba de llegar a la escena.
