#Bridgeport, CT -- April 4, 2014 – A city man as arrested today in connection with a March 28 shooting during an apparent robbery attempt. Members of the Bridgeport Police detective bureau, SWAT team and patrol division executed a search and seizure warrant this morning at 74 6th Street. Police recovered a handgun, marijuana and other evidence during the raid. The suspect, Taavon Johnson, 20, of Bridgeport, subsequently surrendered to police and was charged by warrant with first-degree assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal attempt at murder and unlawful discharge. 11:09pm--#Bridgeport Ct--Firefighters were called to 44 Dogwood Drive for an odor of gas. The metered the home and found nothing. Firefighters were called to 597 Clark Street for an odor of electrical burning. They discovered a smoke condition in the basement. They have stretched a line and are investigating. In either case our friends at ServPro would have make it like it never even happened!
10:45pm--#Milford CT--The Shell Station in Devon was just robbed at gunpoint. Police are looking for a white male in jeans and a denim jacket who fled on foot.
10:01pm--#Trumbull CT--First responders on scene in front of 460 Shelton Road for a two car crash involving a down utility pole and wires on top of the cars.
#Fairfield CT--#ctfire--Firefighters trained today on an condemned home on Benton Street. Firefighters were able to conduct drills, use of the ladder truck, cut open a ventilation hole in the attic and hosted mayday drills. The condemned home was to the right and not seen in the photo below:
