#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 4, 2013 – A 23-year-old man was charged with home invasion in connection with an incident in which a 78-year-old man was accosted in his apartment Tuesday. Officer Michael Murcko met with the victim, who stated that he was inside his apartment at 140 Fairfield Ave. when someone knocked on the door. Two men forced their way in and bound his legs and feet. He stated that the men demanded and stole cash. Detectives Jorge Cintron and Todd Hoben responded to the scene. Based on information from the patrol division and security footage, they determined that the victim arrived home shortly before noon. The Westport Police Department is asking for help locating Robert Brannigan (age 85). Brannigan may be confused and disoriented. He has been missing since approximately 0930 hrs this morning when he left his residence in Westport, CT. He is believed to be operating a 2006 Gray Saab, CT REG 485UYZ. Brannigan is 5’9” tall, 140lbs, gray hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants, an off-white fisherman’s sweater, and a black vest. Two Men Charged With Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon

#Bridgeport  CT – Dec. 3, 2013- – Police arrested two men who were on probation after discovering an assault rifle and a high-capacity magazine in their North Avenue apartment. Bridgeport Police assisted the state Office of Adult Probation Monday in conducting a “compliance check” on the residence of Giovanni Candelario, 20, who is on supervised release. A relative, Ramon Candelario, 23, who also resides at that address, also is on supervised release. According to Detective Sanford Dowling, authorities recovered the SKS 7.62 X 39mm rifle inside a closet behind a furnace duct blower. Also recovered was a 100-round magazine that contained 95 .233-caliber rounds. Authorities recovered other weapon-related items.
