10:30pm--#Bridgeport CT--#ctfire--Firefighters were called out to the corner of Brooks Street and Arctic Street for food truck on fire. When firefighters arrived they reported a fully involved vehicle fire and their first concerns was the one hundred pound propane tank on the back of the truck. Assistant Fire Chief told me the first thing they did was to get water on the propane tank to cool it off. Their second concern was all the vehicles and building in close proximity of the truck. Firefighters quickly got water on the truck and kept the fire from extending elsewhere. The smoke from the fire could be seen from I-95 as far back as the Arena at Harbor Yard. 12:44am--#Fairfield CT--Police respond to a panic alarm at the Citgo station at the Post Road. There was an apparent robbery attempt but it does not sound as if they made off with any money. The suspect told the clerk he put a bomb in the trash. The suspect in his mid 20s wore a mask. He fled south on South Pine Creek Road. Police have just begun their investigation.
10:31pm--Bridgeport Ct--Report of a food truck on fire at 45 Barnum Avenue. Other vehicles are parked. The truck also has propane tanks on the back of it.close by.
9:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--A firetruck was hit by a car in the 400 block of Bishop Avenue.
10:11pm--#Bridgeport CT--Smoke on the first floor at 97 Austin Street. Firefighters on the way. UPDATE--Firefighters find a unresponsive man due to smoke inhalation inside the house. EMS on the way. Fire marshal requested to investigate.
9:43pm--#Bridgeport CT--Multiple reports of shots fired in the High Ridge Road area, No mention of anyone or anything being hit.
8:55pm--#Bridgeport CT--Discount Liquors at 2077 East Main Street was just robbed at gunpoint. The robber fled on foot towards Huntington Road.
8:58pm--#Bridgeport CT--Report of an accident at Lincoln Avenue and Main Street. Avoid the area if you can.
7:44pm--#Bridgeport CT--A gas grill located in apartment four at 1035 Fairfield Avenue, a six story condo unit was the cause of high carbon monoxide levels. Ladder 11 reported high readings of 3500 parts per million in two apartments. When the levels rose to 4500 parts per million the fire department requested the Health Department to the scene but they did not show because they are not on call tonight. Fire fighters turned off the stove and ventilated the complex. Special thanks to Garth Trotto in helping compile this report.
