2021-12-04-38pm--#Fairfield CT-- #cttraffic-- On December 16, 2021, the New Haven Police Department reported a Nissan Altima stolen by way of an armed car-jacking in their city. On December 18, 2021, the North Haven Police Department reported an armed car-jacking of a Toyota Camry. It is believe that the suspects in these car-jackings have a nexus to one another. On December 18, 2021, the Nissan Altima which had been stolen from New Haven, arrived in Fairfield and was involved in an attempted vehicle theft. Fairfield Police attempted to stop the stolen Nissan as it passed through downtown Fairfield, however, the pursuit was terminated. Fairfield Police UPDATE: On December 18, 2021 at approximately 10:15 AM, a resident of Hurd Street reported having justobserved two males attempting to enter a neighbor’s vehicle. The subjects fled the area in a silver NissanAltima, bearing a New Jersey license plate. The vehicle was determined to be a stolen vehicle which hadbeen taken in an armed car-jacking in New Haven, CT on 12/16/21.The vehicle was later observed by police on Oldfield Road near Penfield Road. Officers observed that thevehicle was occupied by at least three individuals.The vehicle continued to Post Road and was in traffic at a red light near Sanford Street when the operatorobserved a marked police vehicle in the area. Homicide Investigation:The Stratford Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on LightStreet near Barnum Avenue at approximately 1am on this date. During the incident twoindividuals were shot by an unknown assailant. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A female victim was transported to a localhospital and is being treated for wounds received during the assault. At this time no names arebeing released until next of kin can be notified. The scene is active and Barnum Avenue will be closed to traffic between Bruce Avenue andBoston Avenue until approximately noon. HARTFORD, CT – Governor Ned Lamont announced that he has tapped Connecticut Department of Revenue Services Commissioner Mark Boughton to serve as his senior advisor for infrastructure.
