Fire Prevention & Safety GrantThe Stratford Fire Marshal’s Office is proud to announce winning approval for a 2020Fire Prevention and Safety Grant of $60,891.43 from FEMA and the Department ofHomeland Security. The Fire Prevention and Safety Grant award will fund a Hearing impaired smoke alarmprogram for the citizens of Stratford. Police UPDATE: BRIDGEPORT- On Monday December 6, 2021 at 2008hrs Bridgeport Police were patrolling the area of Park Avenue and Olive Street when they came upon a multiple vehicle MVA with one of the vehicles into a structure in the 1300th block of Park Ave. Officers immediately rendered aid to the operators of the vehicle as BFD and AMR were enroute to the scene. Both operators were transported to the hospital by AMR for their various non-life threatening injuries. Norwalk News: Vaping Products Sicken Students

#Norwalk CT---On December 3, 2021 at approximately 12:08 p.m., Norwalk Police Officers were dispatched to Brien McMahon High School on the report of a student requiring emergency medical attention. Officers on scene determined that more than one student had used a tainted vaping product, and that those students immediately became very ill, requiring medical treatment. The investigation has led to evidence, which is now being examined, and to witnesses, that are working with officers. We intend to quickly bring a successful close to this case. The individuals affected by the product were transported to Norwalk Hospital and are recovering. GOVERNOR LAMONT ANNOUNCES FIRST CONFIRMED COVID-19 OMICRON VARIANT CASE IN CONNECTICUT Connecticut Department of Public Health Opens Mobile Booster Clinics Across the State (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced the first confirmed case of the COVID-19 Omicron variant in Connecticut. Sequencing performed at the Connecticut State Public Health Laboratory confirmed the presence of the variant. The case involves a man in his 60s from Hartford County who developed mild symptoms on November 27. An at-home COVID-19 test was positive on November 29 and a subsequent molecular test was positive on December 1. Rojas is charged with Murder, Use of a Firearm in an A,B,C Felony, Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, and Risk of Injury to a Child. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
