#Westport, CT – Parks and Recreation Director, Jennifer Fava, is pleased to announce the following Parks and Recreation Department updates. Longshore Golf Course: As of June 18, 2020, the driving range and practice putting area will be open for use.  Driving range balls will be available through payment at the ball machine only.  The fee is $6 per basket.  The machine accepts singles and fives and exact change only is required.  Be sure to bring the cash with you. As of June 23, 2020, an additional half-hour of tee times will be available Mondays through Thursdays, which will start at 7:30am. Fairfield Senior Transportation is back!

Fairfield Senior Transportation is back! Transportation services have resumed on a limited basis for medical appointments and grocery shopping. Reservations for rides are first-come, first-served for shopping and medical appointments and must be made no less than one week in advance. Please call the senior center for more information: 203-256-3166. The number of riders per trip is limited to four. For those who do not live in Senior and Disabled Housing, Fairfield Senior Transportation will provide rides on fixed routes based on neighborhoods either Tuesdays or Thursdays each week. Bridgeport News: Woman Extricated After Crash

2020-06-18@9:38pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating a crash on Water Street in front of the train station at the intersection of State Street. Witnesses told me the woman was being pursued and hit a parked car on State Street near Iranistan Avenue prior. The woman could not negotiate the left turn and crash. It took firefighters about twenty minutes to free her. Her injuries are not known at this time.

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Wednesday applauded Senate passage of the Great American Outdoors Act. The bipartisan legislation, which passed by a vote of 73-25, fully and permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at $900 million per year.
