Shelton News: Fatal Motorcycle Accident

2021-07-27@2:20pm--#Shelton CT-- Shelton Police, Shelton Fire and EMS weredispatched to the Derby/Shelton Bridge for an accident involving a vehicle and amotorcycle. The preliminary investigation by police revealed that the driver of themotorcycle was traveling on the Derby/Shelton Bridge headed into downtown Sheltonand the driver of the vehicle was on Riverside Drive headed towards Bridge St when theaccident occurred. The operator of the motorcycle, 60 year old David Guliuzza of Derby, was transported tothe hospital and was later pronounced deceased. The operator of the vehicle, 65 year oldDonald Wolanin of Shelton, did not claim any injuries.The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is currently investigating thisaccident. I am really sorry to report that the famous Bear 211 has died. Bear 211 he was identified roamed between New York and Connecticut with such a flair and personality that he got his own Facebook Page. He was smarter than the average bear but was not faster than a car when he was hit by a car in Easton yesterday, July 26th on Route 136 near Wilson Road by a hit and run driver. You will be missed Bear 211.

Norwalk News: Grandma Scam Net $18K

#Norwalk CT--On Thursday, 07/15/21, a senior citizen Complainant reported that a unknown male contacted her by phone, identifying himself as a Sergeant of the State Police, and advised her that her grandson had been in a hit & run car accident and was in custody.  The male proceeded to use the “Grandparent Scam”, tricking the victim into handing over cash. The suspect later arrived driving a white, four door sedan, and described as a light skinned, thin black male wearing thin gold rimmed glasses and had a neatly groomed mustache.
