Westport News: Distracted Driving Campaign
(Westport, CT - 10/13/2021) – The Westport Police Department is participating in The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s high visibility distracted driving enforcement campaign. In partnership with State and local law enforcement and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the campaign will increase efforts to enforce distracted-driving laws. This campaign will run from October 15 th to October 31 st , 2021. Distracted driving is an activity that diverts attention from driving. Fairfield News: Man Shot
Police UPDATE: On Thursday, October 14, 2021 at approximately 12:58 AM, the Fairfield Police Department received a report from a Cumberland farms employee at 975 Kings Highway East, Fairfield, that a male gunshot victim had just entered the store. The victim is a delivery driver for Miller Nissan who was shot in the abdomen during a robbery attempt at the dealership at 930 Kings Highway East. The victim was transported to an area Hospital and has undergone surgery. The latest report was that he is expected to recover.
