Westport, CT - Human Services Director Elaine Daignault reminds residents that income-eligible households can apply for assistance with their home heating costs through one or more of the energy assistance programs administered by The Department of Human Services (DHS). Contactless applications for the 2020-2021 heating season through April 30 are available now. “Qualifying residents are encouraged to complete the application process early in the season to ensure that they maximize the benefits of this essential program,” said Daignault. DHS Finance Manager Susan Stefenson oversees the means-tested program. On September 1, 2020 Norwalk Police were called to Flax Hill Park for an armed robbery. The victim anda friend were in Flax Hill Park when they were approached by four individuals who robbed them atgunpoint. A physical altercation occurred between the victims and the suspect. During this, the victimwas struck in the head with a firearm and a chain valued at $800 was pulled off the victim’s neck. Thevictim sustained minor injuries during the incident.During the investigation Detectives identified Carlye Moss as the suspect. An arrest warrant was appliedfor and granted. Ansonia News: Armed Robbery

On October 14, 2020 at 10:35 P.M., the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of an armed robbery at the Wakelee Mart, 192 Wakelee Avenue. Two males, both armed with handguns entered the store and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the register. Several hundred dollars were taken during the robbery. During the course of the robbery, one of the suspects struck the employee in the head. The employee suffered a minor injury and declined medical attention.
