Beaches: The 4th of July weekend is usually one of the busiest weekends at the beach. I implore residents to wear face coverings when walking on the beach, at the concession stand or in the restrooms. Please keep 15' distance between your family and other groups. After receiving many emails and calls regarding people using the Bob's store shopping center on South Pine Creek Road for beach parking, I reached out to the property manager. He graciously agreed to allow for signage and for law enforcement to monitor the parking lot and ticket anyone using the lot for beach parking. #Bridgeport CT-- On July 5, 2020 at approximately 7:16 pm Bridgeport Patrol Officers and Bridgeport Firefighters responded to the scene of a serious crash at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Center Street Extension. A 34-year-old Bridgeport man was traveling southbound on Madison Avenue operating a white 2007 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle. As the motorcycle approached the intersection of Madison Avenue and Center Street Extension a blue 2005 Toyota RAV4, operated by a 51-year-old Bridgeport man, was traveling eastbound on Center Street Extension. The operator of the RAV4 attempted to turn left onto Madison Avenue when he crossed the motorcyclist path of travel. POLICE UPDATE: At 9:57 PM--Bridgeport Emergency Call Center received a call for police response to person down on the ground. The victim was shot somewhere on Newfield Avenue near the park. He attempted to drive to the hospital but ended up crashing his three-wheel motorcycle into the back of an SUV. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital. Detectives were notified and responded. The victim in stable condition at the time of this report. 2020-07-05@4:00AMish-- #Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police are saying the received calls from both Bridgeport Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital of gunshot victims. Police had a shot spotter activation at Arctic Street with casing located. Bridgeport Hospital had a person arrive with gunshots to the ankle and wrist while St. Vincent's had two gunshots to the lower back saying this happened Fremont Street.
