Stratford To Enforce Social Distancing

#Stratford CT – As the spread of COVID-19 continues to surge across the region and the state, Mayor Laura Hoydick is directing the Stratford Police Department to issue infractions to those who are warned to observe social distancing directives at Town recreational areas per Governor Ned Lamont’s Executive Orders that are aimed at reducing the spread of the Coronavirus.     The guideline in the Governor’s orders require residents to maintain a distance from one another of at least six feet apart, and to gather in groups no larger than 5 people at a time.  Recreational areas include Town parks, beaches, ponds, forests and other areas used for recreational purposes, including playgrounds, ballfields and docks, as well as the parking facilities adjacent…

Frontier Communications Complaints

#Hartford, CT – Attorney General William Tong and Consumer Protection Commissioner Michelle H. Seagull today announced an investigation into Frontier Communications following consumer complaints regarding excessive charges, poor service quality and unsatisfactory customer service that began after Frontier acquired Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET) in 2014. Since June 2015, the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Consumer Protection have jointly received over 1,000 consumer complaints regarding Frontier. Those include complaints involving charges for equipment already returned, poor voice, video and internet quality, unsatisfactory customer service, charges that exceeded promised rates, and charges that continued after services had been cancelled. Bridgeport News: Double Stabbing

2020-04-07@7:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Police are investigating a double stabbing in the 200 block of Hough Avenue.  The first radio reports said the girlfriend stabbed the boyfriend and short time later another report of a second person stabbed.  The girlfriend fled on foot but police located her and made the arrest.  There was a second scene on Pembroke Street, I could not verify if it was the second victim or the girlfriend.

Bridgeport News: Water Rescue Off Pleasure Beach

2020-04-07@4:40pm--#Bridgeport CT—Bridgeport Firefighters received a call for a water rescue off Pleasure Beach. Assistant Chief William Hathaway told me that two kayakers were rescued, one was in the water for about twenty minutes prior to their dispatch. Fireboat 233 was able to pull the victims out of the water. EMS took one kayaker to the hospital suffering from hypothermia. The air temperature was 65f degrees according to the Interstate race car thermometer, .seatemperature.org said the water temperature was 41f degrees. Generally, a person can survive in 41-degree F (5-degree C) water for 10, 15 or 20 minutes before the muscles get weak, you lose coordination and strength, which happens because the blood moves away from the extremities and toward the…
