April Is Autism Awareness Month

The City of Norwalk has declared the month of April as Autism Awareness Month, and April 2 is World Autism Day. Historically, Norwalk Police Department has joined city officials for a special proclamation at the “Light It Up Blue” event that annually takes place at the Norwalk Town Green. This year, the Norwalk Police Department remains dedicated to our commitment to fostering understanding and acceptance of people with autism. We hope to spark an ongoing conversation in order to increase awareness of autism, and how it impacts residents in our own community. Bridgeport News: House Fire

2020-04-02@11:39pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters received a call for a house fire in the 100 block of Harborview Avenue, near Harborview Market.  The fire was in the back of the home.  Radio reports said the homeowner ran back into the home to retrieve the pets.  There were no reported injuries.  The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.

Bridgeport News: Third Person Today Shot Is Homicide #5

Police UPDATE: On April 2, 2020 at 2258 hours, police received a Shotspotter activation in the area of 468 Trumbull Avenue reporting multiple gunshots fired in the area. Officers responded to the scene and located a crime scene. A 32-year-old male victim was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and groin. Detectives processed crime scenes at the hospital and on Trumbull Avenue, and are working to establish a motive and leads in the case. Bridgeport News: Porch Fire

2020-04-02@5:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters on the scene on Morehouse Street in the Black Rock section of town for a porch fire that was mostly extinguished by the homeowner.  Firefighters are reporting extensions to the ceiling which they are pulling out to ensure the fire is completely out.   If this were a big fire, our sponsor would have made it Like It Never Even Happened!
