Hwang Calls For Fairfield Speed Camera Pause

Tony Hwang, ranking Republican leader on the Transportation Committee, is calling on Fairfield officials to pause the town’s speed camera program after warning-period data projected nearly 190,000 violations in May. Hwang said the number is “alarming and shocking,” but not surprising, arguing that speeding has become normalized across Fairfield and other Connecticut communities. He said he continues to support speed and red-light cameras as a public safety tool, but believes Fairfield should use the May warning period to improve education, signage, public awareness and transparency before full enforcement continues. Two Shot In Bridgeport

Bridgeport Police responded to the 690 block of Beechwood Avenue around 1:10am after multiple ShotSpotter activations. When officers arrived, they located one victim with a gunshot wound. That victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by AMR. A second victim later self-transported to Bridgeport Hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. No arrests have been made, and the Bridgeport Police Department is investigating. Further information will be provided once available.

Water Infrastructure Work to Begin in Bridgeport Water Main Replacement Project Scheduled to Start in Early May 2026 Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on infrastructure necessary to ensure continued system reliability. The water main replacement project is scheduled to begin in early May 2026 on Abner Court, followed by Albermarie Street, Ameridge Drive, Cherry Hill Drive, D’Eramo Place, Glendale Avenue, Jewett Avenue, Marconi Avenue, Martha Place, Plankton Street, Primrose Avenue, and Ruth Street. The project is expected to be completed by May 2027. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the City of Bridgeport. Norwalk Police Arrest Man in Juvenile Sexual Assault Investigation

Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested On November 15, 2025, members of the Norwalk Police Department Patrol Division responded to a report of two juveniles who were sexually assaulted. The suspect was reported to be a former family acquaintance. The investigation was assumed by the Special Victims Unit, where Detective Rodriguez identified the suspect as Francisco Rodriguez-Posligua. Following an extensive investigation, Detective Rodriguez developed probable cause and applied for an arrest warrant, which was issued by Stamford Superior Court. On 3/25/2026, Thelamour was arrested on a warrant and charged with Robbery in the First Degree with a Firearm and Larceny in the Second Degree.
