Man Charged in Westport Kidnapping and Assault

On Friday, October 16, 2026, a complainant came to police headquarters wishing to report an incident that had occurred on Thursday, October 15. What was determined to be the victim in this incident reported that they had recently ended a relationship with Vanderval Ferreria. This apparently upset Ferreira who made several telephone calls and sent several threatening text messages over a period of days. These messages included threats to kill the victim. The victim eventually agreed to meet with Ferreira and entered a vehicle that he was operating. Ferreria was reportedly driving extremely erratically through various Westport roads causing the victim to attempt to exit the vehicle in fear. Fairfield Police Arrest Two Following Investigation into Greenfield Hill Residential Burglaries Fairfield, CT – On the evening of 9/24/2026, Fairfield Police arrested two individuals following an extensive investigation into a series of residential burglaries in the Greenfield Hill area. Arrested were Levan Aleksidze, age 40, and Mamuka Chaganava, age 47, both of Brooklyn, New York. Both were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the First Degree and held on $100,000 bonds. Recently, Fairfield experienced several residential burglaries with similar circumstances in the Greenfield Hill area. In each incident, the homes were unoccupied at the time of the burglary, with the suspects targeting high-end jewelry. On Monday, October 19, 2026, Norwalk Police Detectives arrested Frank Williams, 40, of Norwalk following a lengthy investigation into a series of prowler complaints at 8 Oakwood Avenue. Since July 14, 2026, Norwalk patrol officers have responded to 8 Oakwood Avenue on seven occasions for reports of suspicious activity. During the investigations, residents reported seeing an unknown male walking along the rear balconies of the condominium complex and looking into condos. The incidents primarily occurred in the evening and overnight. Patrol officers conducted proactive patrols while detectives continued the investigation. On October 8, 2026, at approximately 11:59 p.m., the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a report of a collision with a motor vehicle versus a motorcycle in the 2500 block of Park Avenue. The initial caller reported that a male motorcyclist was unresponsive and that a large crowd was beginning to gather at the scene. Emergency personnel were dispatched immediately. Upon arrival, Bridgeport police officers observed emergency medical personnel providing aid to the unresponsive motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center by American Medical Response (AMR). A Bridgeport man was arrested by the Trumbull Police on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for the burglary of a daycare facility on Beardsley Parkway. The suspect, Latrell Eppes, age 32, of Bridgeport was taken into custody by officers after he was located in a stolen motor vehicle in Bridgeport. The owner of the daycare contacted the Trumbull Police around 7:15 a.m. reporting that their business had been entered during the overnight hours and approximately $1200 cash was stolen from the business. On September 30, 2026, a Norwalk Police Canine Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Spring Hill Avenue and Loomis Street. The occupants were identified as Charles Piazza and Melissa Kozma. Over the past several months, the Norwalk Police Department Special Services Division had been conducting an investigation into Piazza and Kozma for selling large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, throughout the City of Norwalk. As a result of the investigation, both Piazza and Kozma had active arrest warrants. During the motor vehicle stop, officers observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
