Westport News: Failure to Pay or Plead

#Westport CT-- On 02/17/2018 at approximately 1:00am, an officer observed a vehicle traveling on Post Rd East with darkly tinted windows and an expired registration. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of 1385 Post Rd East. During the motor vehicle stop, officers determined that two passengers of the vehicle had active warrants for their arrest. One passenger, identified as Jeffrey Garcia, 22, of Bridgeport, had an outstanding warrant from the Fairfield Police Department. Another passenger, identified as Frankie Figueroa, 22, of Bridgeport, had two outstanding warrants; one from the Newtown Police Department and the other from the Mashantucket Tribal Police. Westport News: Using a Vessel Without Permission

#Westport CT--On 08/27/17, officers responded to the docks behind 575 Riverside Avenue on a report of a stolen boat. Officers learned that the victim’s boat had been stolen at approximately 4:00am and returned at approximately 5:00am, according to the boat’s GPS. The boat had been taken down the Saugatuck River and out into Long Island Sound by Compo Beach before being returned. The victim found his boat partially uncovered and observed damage to the hull. While waiting for police, the victim observed a male, later identified as Patrick Gillis, pull up alongside his boat in another. Fairfield Animal Control to Conduct Strict Enforcement

#Fairfield CT--The mission of the Animal Control Office is to enforce all state and local laws concerning roaming dogs, barking dogs, animal bites, nuisance complaints, and rabies related wildlife complaints. Due to an increase in calls for service, observed violations, and dog attacks on both people and other dogs, the Fairfield Police Department Animal Control Office will be conducting random enforcement at ALL of the Town Parks where animals are permitted with a “zero tolerance” approach. Bridgeport News: Woman Attempts To Escape Moving Car

10:42pm--#Bridgeport News: Police on patrol noticed a woman in a car trying to escape from the passenger door of a moving car on I-95.  The police followed the car (no lights or sirens) off exit 26 after calling state police of the incident.  The car fled towards Captain's Cove parking lot where they found the woman laying on the ground.  The driver was found a short time later.   This news report is made possible by:

Fairfield News: Manhunt

5:15pm--#Fairfield CT-- Police have been tracking a shoplifter from the Stop and Shop on Villa Avenue in the Kings Highway.  They had him tracked to the Rooster River behind the Board Of Education Building on 500 Kings Highway East.  They caught up with him on Arising Street (Miller Nissan overflow parking area).  He has a broken arm and hypothermia from the ordeal.  State Police provided K-9 in the search.

Bridgeport News: Arson Suspected In Fire

Fire Department UPDATE: At 0223 this morning, the Bridgeport Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 1367 Reservoir Ave.  Upon arrival units found fire on the outside of the building threating to extend to the interior.  Quick operations by the members of the department held the damage to the exterior.  Our Fire Marshal Division is working with Bridgeport Police to investigate the fire.  The incident is being treated as suspicious with evidence at the scene suggesting that the fire may have been intentionally set.  The working fire required a full 1st alarm assignment of 4 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, the Rescue Company,  an Assistant Chief and Safety Officer.  No injuries were reported to civilians or Fire Department members during the incident.   2:29am--#Bridgeport CT-- Arson…
