Bridgeport News: Murder Arrest

#Bridgeport CT-- This morning, detectives arrested Glenn Pettway (DOB: 10-26-93 of 564 East Main St) for his role in the February 26, 2018 murder Alfanso Anderson at the Sunny Side Inn, located at 174 Lake Street. It is believed that the murder was committed while Pettway was attempting to collect a debt owed to a prostitute and that Anderson was mistakenly identified as the man that owed the debt. No evidence was uncovered to believe that Anderson had any connection to Pettway, the prostitute, or that he had engaged in any illegal conduct; it appears that he was a truly innocent victim. Bridgeport News: Narcotics Arrest

#Bridgeport CT--  Bridgeport Police suspected Raevon Peters of dealing cocaine out of 50 Worth Street on the third floor.  After watching him complete a deal in Milford, Peters was followed back to Bridgeport where he was detained and arrested for the sale of drugs.  Officers detained Peters and a female occupant of the Worth Street residence signed a written consent to search the premise.  Officers seized 5.0 Grams cocaine packaged for sale, 10 amphetamine pills, small amounts of Oxycodine and marijuana, Cutting agents and drug factory equipment. Stratford News: Shooting Arrest

#Stratford CT-- On 02-13-2019 Jacques Smith, age 20 of Stratford was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred at the George Force Basketball Courts located on Woodend Road in Stratford. The shooting took place on 08-07-2018. 1:04PM--#Bridgeport, CT- At 1:24pm fire units responded to a structure fire at 135-141 Madison Avenue.  The initial 3-story housing structure on fire subsequently became a 3-alarm fire that affected the adjacent structure which also had to be evacuated.  Units reported heavy fire on the second and third floors.  Bridgeport Fire Department safely cleared and evacuated all tenants to the outside of the homes.  A GBT bus served as a temporary warming shelter for displaced residents. Bridgeport Fire Department quickly worked on controlling and putting out the fire.   Both buildings sustained severe fire and water damage.   Approximately 31 people were evacuated, and all are now temporarily displaced at this time. Stratford News: Property Tax Relief

#STRATFORD CT – The Town of Stratford is now taking applications for Senior and Disabled Property Tax relief.  Applications can be made Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 11:30am now through May 15, 2019 at the Assessor’s Office in Town Hall, 2725 Main Street, Stratford.* Those applying for tax relief must be 65 years of age by December 31, 2018 or approved as 100% disabled by Social Security.
