Norwalk News: Norwalk man arrested for solicitation of a minor

On May 7, 2024, the Norwalk Police Department received a complaint involving a 14-year-old engaged in inappropriate sexual conversations with a person known to the victim, identified as Keon Salmond. Norwalk Police Special Victims Unit detectives investigated and established probable cause to charge Salmond, leading to an arrest warrant. On October 16, 2024, Salmond was taken into custody at his home without incident. He was charged with Risk of Injury and Impairing Morals of a Child, as well as Harmful Communication with a Minor. Bridgeport News: Crash Sends Three Children to Hospital

On October 16, 2024, at around 8:44 a.m., Bridgeport emergency responders were called to the intersection of Park Avenue and South Frontage Road following a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Officers from the Bridgeport Police Department and medical personnel from American Medical Response (AMR) arrived at the scene. Three children, ages 7, 8, and 11, were taken to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. Norwalk News: Motor Vehicle Accident Leads to Arrest in Fatal Crash

The crash involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck, with the motorcycle driver sustaining life-threatening injuries and passing away the following day. Investigators determined that the motorcycle was traveling westbound when the pickup truck made a left turn, striking the motorcycle. Norwalk Police Accident Reconstruction Officers conducted an investigation, resulting in the arrest of the pickup truck driver, Juan Ochoa-Macias, on October 15, 2024, without incident.
