On Monday, June 30, 2025, officers from the Norwalk Police Patrol Division were dispatched totwo separate locations in response to reports of found hand grenades.At 10:21 AM, officers responded to a residence on St. Mary’s Lane, where a resident discovereda grenade on the side of the road. Later that day, at 3:30 PM, officers were dispatched to aresidence on Wolfpit Avenue after a grenade was located in the backyard of the property. During both incidents, patrol officers and supervisors secured the areas, and the Stamford PoliceDepartment Bomb Squad was notified and responded to assist.The investigations revealed the grenade located on St. Mary’s Lane was disabled and inert. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, the moped operator, identified as Juan Otilio Tista Tista, age 25 of Bridgeport, later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The Fairfield Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Mr. Tista Tista’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. At approximately 7:21 PM, a ShotSpotter activation alerted officers to 12 rounds fired near the 40–50 block of Sheridan Street. Responding officers located a crime scene, and shortly after, two male victims—ages 26 and 18—arrived at Bridgeport Hospital. Both underwent surgery and were previously listed in critical condition.
