The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the murder of a 29-year-old man who was stabbed to death behind a social club in the East End of the city early Friday morning. The victim was identified as Kyle Allen LeBlanc from Southington, Ct. He was most recently residing in Stratford. At approximately 3:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1st, the Stratford Police responded to a report of a person laying in the street bleeding near the intersection of Stratford Ave. and Bruce Ave. Officers subsequently found the victim there deceased, as a result of multiple stab wounds. Joshua DeJesus, 25, of Bridgeport, was arrested by Westport police on October 30, 2024, on an outstanding warrant linked to a smash-and-grab larceny at Lux Bond & Green on May 9, 2024. On October 21, 2024, Norwalk Police learned that a vehicle stolen from Norwalk was recovered in New Haven. Detectives identified the recovered 2010 Ford Crown Victoria as belonging to the Norwalk Engineering Department, last driven on October 10 and observed at City Hall on that date. On October 19, it was reportedly used in a "Street Take Over." Detectives gathered evidence and obtained an arrest warrant, leading to the October 26 arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile, who was taken into custody without incident and sent to Juvenile Detention in Bridgeport. FAIRFIELD, CT – On October 27, 2024, at approximately 9:55 AM, the Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center received a report of an armed carjacking in the area of Walls Drive and North Benson Road. Annual Curbside Leaf Collection

Westport, CT – The Department of Public Works has announced that curbside leaf collection will begin on Monday, November 4. All leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags safely near the curb of a Town street by December 2 to guarantee pick-up. Residents living on private streets must place their leaves behind the curb of an intersecting Town roadway for pick up by Town crews. Leaves placed in plastic bags will not be picked up as plastic contaminates the composting process. There is no need to call and schedule a pick-up. Crews will complete pick-ups as schedules allow. Firearm Recovered During Traffic Stop in Bridgeport

Bridgeport, CT – On October 22, 2024, during a midnight traffic stop for a violation, Bridgeport officers discovered an illegal firearm, leading to the arrest of the driver, identified as Eric Guillermo Goicochea, 26, from Manchester, CT. The stop revealed that Goicochea lacked a valid pistol permit, the vehicle was unregistered, and its license plates belonged to another car.
