2019-03-11 #Westport CT--#cttraffic--At 7:27 pm this evening the Westport Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle Accident with roll over. Upon arrival, we were presented with a 2 car accident with 1 vehicle on its side. There were no injuries and the driver of the car on its side was able to climb out of the sunroof. Rt 15 south was closed for over 2 hours while tow trucks were brought up the highway in the wrong direction of travel. The last units cleared the scene at 9:52 pm. On 03-10-2019 David Williams, age 39 of Stratford was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Success Avenue in Stratford. The shooting took place on 03- 07-2019. Williams was located with the assistance of the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia. After a standoff which lasted for several hours, Williams was taken into custody. Williams was arrested by warrant and will subsequently be held without bail pending extradition. #Westport CT-- On 11/03/2018 at approximately 1:30pm, officers were dispatched to Whole Foods on a report of a larceny. The victim had inadvertently left a money clip containing two credit cards and $1600 cash on the small stand at the checkout register he used. When he returned to the store, the money and cards were gone and had not been turned in to store management. In reviewing the surveillance, a male and female were seen using the same checkout register after the victim. The male suspect was observed picking up the clip and placing it into his pocket. UPDATE: I'm sad to report that the police have confirmed one of the victims has died. The name has not been released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
