DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Firefighters were called to an alarm in the 400 block of Bishop Avenue, firefighters found a working fire in the walls on the third floor which spread to the roof. 5 adults, 4 children, and 10 dogs will be spending Christmas elsewhere when the Red Cross relocates them and attends to their immediate needs. Barricaded Subject Arrested After Lengthy Standoff in Norwalk

Norwalk, CT – A nearly six-hour standoff ended peacefully after police arrested a man accused of making threats and brandishing a weapon at a residence on Adams Avenue. On December 23, 2024, at approximately 7:04 PM, Norwalk Police received a report of a disturbance at 32 Adams Avenue. According to authorities, 29-year-old Nabeel Osama Abdallah, who appeared intoxicated, made alarming statements about "completing a mission," including threats to burn down the house and harm a resident. A witness also reported seeing a firearm in Abdallah's room, and he allegedly stated that he was "not going down without a fight." The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office in conjunction with the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion investigation unit are investigating.

Alleged Bridgeport U Shooter Turns Self In

18-year-old Dylan Cruz-Tillery of Queens NY has turned himself in for an extraditable warrant out of Bridgeport Connecticut for the October 29, 2024, shooting that occurred inside the Marina Dining Hall at the University of Bridgeport. The shooting injured one juvenile victim who was treated at an area hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. This was a targeted shooting where Cruz-Tillery was familiar with the victim and had prior communication with him via social media.
