DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Teen Homicide Investigation

#Bridgeport CT-- On September 9, 2023, at approximately 1:30 pm Bridgeport Police responded to report(s) of a party shot in the face in the 300 block of Pacific Street.  After arriving at the scene, Officers located a 16-year-old male inside the residence suffering from a single critical gunshot wound to his head.  The 16-year-old victim was quickly transported to an area hospital where he was admitted into the intensive care unit.  Due to the injuries reported on September 9, 2023, the Detective Bureau’s Homicide Squad took charge of the investigation.  They were assisted by Detectives from the Forensic Identification Unit.  The Detective Bureau processed a crime scene on Pacific Street, interviewed witness(es), collecting evidence, and notified the family.  The preliminary…

Bridgeport Homicides 19&20

On September 12, 2023, at approximately 2:45 am Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation within the 100 block of Carleton Avenue. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the location of the gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 21-year-old Ansonia man lying face down in the street in front of 30 Carleton Avenue. The victim appeared to be suffering from a critical gunshot wound(s). Medics arrived and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. Norwalk News: Stalking Arrest

Norwalk News: Stalking Arrest On September 7, 2023, Alexander King turned himself in at police headquarters on an active arrest warrant which charged him with Electronic Stalking. The arrest stemmed from an incident reported on July 4, 2023. A victim located a GPS and listening device on the ground next to their vehicle in a residential driveway. The victim had recently ended a relationship with King. Patrol Division Officers prepared a search warrant to attempt to identify the owner of the GPS and secure its contents. Bridgeport News: Another Person Shot

2023-09-10@03:32am--#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received two ShotSpotter activations for Highland Avenue, followed by multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots and potential blood trails. Bridgeport Police and AMR (American Medical Response) were dispatched to the scene. Preliminary reports from the scene indicate that there is a gunshot wound (GSW) victim in the 100th block of Center Street, and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Additionally, Bridgeport Hospital notified the ECC that another individual with a gunshot wound arrived at their Emergency Room via a private vehicle. Fairfield Cops Bust Romanian Connection

In Fairfield, two individuals, a male identified as Radu Radulescu with a date of birth of 10/24/88, and a female identified as Pinchi Anghel with a date of birth of 3/25/90, are currently in custody. The Fairfield Police Department was contacted because both individuals were recognized by Home Depot for engaging in larcenies through fraudulent activities. Their modus operandi involved taking products from the shelves, returning the items, and using sleight of hand techniques to steal money from the cashiers. During the encounter with law enforcement, the female provided a fake name, which led to her being charged with interfering with the officers.
