DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Bridgeport News: Firefighters Rescue 3 From Fire

2022-03-18@3:18am--#Bridgeport CT-- #ctfire---Still working without a contract, the Bridgeport Firefighters braved this structure fire at 129 Wood Avenue, rescuing 3 people. Their efforts kept the fire contained to just one unit. Two adults and one child was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A total of 6 were displaced and the Red Cross is helping with their immediate needs.

Bridgeport News: Person Shot

2022-12-03@6:40 pm #Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received a ShotSpotter activation near the intersection of Stratford Avenue & Wilmot Avenue. This area is located within the City’s East End. ShotSpotter is a gunshot detection system. Once gunshots are fired in an area covered by this service, police receive a notification within one minute directing them to the exact location of the gunfire. During this time EOC received multiple calls from citizens in the East End reporting they heard gunshots in the same area (10-11 rounds). At approximately 6:50 pm a 17-year-old Stratford CT teenager walked into a local hospital suffering from multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He has been admitted into the hospital.
